Biography
Dr. Gaojian Lin is currently an associate professor at Beijing Institute of Technology. In 2018, he received his Ph.D. from Temple University, Unite States. After that, he worked at BIT for post-doctoral research from 2019 to 2022. Then he joined the State Key Laboratory of Explosion Science and Technology at BIT. Dr. Lin’s research interests are on mechanics of advanced materials and structures at multi scales, as well as its broad applications in protection, energy, environment, and healthcare. Dr. Lin has co-authored more than 30 international journal papers. He has been the PI of NSFC projects, and a core member of Project of National Key R&D Program of China. He is a member of Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (CSTAM) and Chinese Society for Composite Materials (CSCM).

Research Interests
1) Dynamic behavior of materials under extreme loading such as impact and explosion
2) Metamaterials with extraordinary mechanical behavior such as negative possion's ratio, compression-torsion coupling and negative thermal expansion etc.
3) Polymer matrix composite materials including fiber reinforced epoxy, nanofiller reinforced polyurea etc.
4) Functional materials with unique wetting properties and optical properties such as superhydrophobic material, liquid crystal polymer, mechanochromic material etc.
